What does “Marte Meo” mean?

Marte Meo can be translated from Latin as "by one's own strength". Maria Aarts has been developing Marte Meo as a method for more than 40 years. The Marte Meo method aims to initiate and support children's development processes. Video recordings provide a new perspective on everyday situations and encourage parents to adopt behaviors that support development.

Who is Marte Meo suitable for?

With the Marte Meo Parent Invitation Program we share developmentally supportive information.

For parents who

How do we help?

Short everyday situations are filmed for around two to ten minutes. This takes place at home or in our facility. First, we look at which skills the child already has, which are not yet developed, and how these can be supported.

We will look at the pictures together in a consultation. You will be provided with practical information about support options and opportunities for support in everyday life. You will learn how you can support your child in mastering his or her own individual developmental tasks.

How can you take advantage of the Marte Meo Parent Invitation Program?

Marte Meo is offered as a private service. At least four appointments are required to assess the child's developmental level and provide advice on how to improve the quality of the interactions in your child's everyday life. The appointments can take place at home or at K+X.

Our team consists of trained educational and therapeutic specialists with additional qualifications as "Marte Meo Practitioner" and "Therapist" according to Maria Aarts.
