Help with developmental problems and behavioral problems for children and adolescents – parenting support

Individual support for children and young people

Our educational support offers targeted help with behavioral problems and challenges for children and young people aged 6 to 18. This support is aimed at helping children and young people to overcome developmental deficits and educational problems that affect their everyday lives.

We offer parenting support in the districts of Hameln-Pyrmont, Schaumburg, Holzminden and the Hanover region.

Who is this help suitable for?

The parental support is aimed at children and young people who:

  • have developmental deficits or delays

  • Have low self-confidence and few positive self-efficacy experiences

  • Show behavioral problems or emotional blockages that are exacerbated by family stress

  • Showing conspicuous social, work or performance behavior, especially with a lack of group skills

  • having difficulties due to stressful life events

How do we support children and young people?

Our help for children and young people is based on individual needs and includes:

  • Active support in leisure activities

  • Support in dealing with personal crises

  • Joint development of future perspectives

  • cooperation with schools, doctors and authorities

  • Supporting the development of relationships between children/young people and their parents

  • Coaching in practical areas of life, e.g. dealing with media consumption

In some cases, the parenting assistant works together with the family support service and the family and is specifically responsible for accompanying and supporting the child and/or young person.

Goals of Parental Assistance

The aim of educational support is:

  • Resolving development-related conflicts

  • To strengthen social skills, conflict resolution skills and the self-esteem of children and young people

  • Recognizing and promoting individual strengths and interests

  • Stabilize emotional relationships within the family
